Bills on the Table:
These harmful bills have already passed either the House or Senate and are now moving to the other chamber—one step closer to becoming law. But there’s still time to stop them from reaching the Governor’s desk! Lawmakers need to hear from their constituents. Let them know: we’re watching, we won’t be silent, and we refuse to accept these terrible bills.

HB 682 - Generally revise laws regarding gender transition treatment - Greg Kmetz
This bill is back from the Senate with an amendment that makes it less harmful. Now, the House has to vote on it again—this time with the amendment included. Call your Representative and urge them to keep the amendment intact. And if they really want to do the right thing, bonus points for voting NO on the entire bill.
Extends the statute of limitations for lawsuits against providers of gender-affirming care, allowing people to sue up to 25 years after turning 18 or 4 years after discovering an injury they claim was caused by their treatment. It also forces private insurance, state employee plans, and university health plans to cover detransition treatments at the same level as transition care—but allows insurers to drop coverage for transition care entirely. This bill increases legal risks for providers and could further limit access to transition-related healthcare. It also reinforces harmful narratives that frame transitioning as something to regret, rather than a legitimate and life-saving medical process.

HJ 10 Resolution on sports laws by Kerri Seekins-Crowe
This bill is heading to the Senate floor for a final vote. Call your Senator and urge them to vote NO.
House Joint Resolution 10 is yet another attack on trans rights, declaring that “biological boys and men” should be banned from girls' and women’s sports. Though non-binding, it urges Congress to pass a national ban on trans athletes, further fueling the vitriol toward the LGBTQ+ community. This resolution is redundant—its sponsor, Rep. Seekins-Crowe, already passed House Bill 300, which legally bars trans students from sports and restricts their access to bathrooms, locker rooms, and dorms. The governor has already signed HB 300 into law. HJ 10 doesn’t change policy; it’s just political theater, doubling down on discrimination Montana has already enacted and rubbing salt in the wound.
